Head Start Teacher Aide

Seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Head Start Teacher Aide, assisting in the classroom and supporting young learners’ growth and development. Position: Teacher Aide Program and Location: Minden Head Start Center, Minden Position Summary: The Teacher Aide is responsible for providing teacher support in the classroom. The Teacher Aide also provides a safe, pleasant, active learning, and problem-solving environment. Responsibilities: Assume the role and responsibility of other center positions during staff absences Assist in classroom management Assist in daily classroom activities and provide classroom support. Assist in implementation of the curriculum including active learning and practices that are developmentally appropriate. Assist in implementation of oral health practices. Be actively engaged in all Head Start activities and model appropriate behavior. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Experience in a childcare environment is preferred. Required Skills: Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public and agency employees. Excellent communication skills. Model appropriate and professional behavior. Schedule/Hours: 37 hours per week for 39 weeks per year. Scheduled hours are generally between 7:30 am and 3:00 pm, M-F with some flexibility. This position has summers off. Pay Rate: The entry-level rate of pay per hour is $16.04.
