We are looking for an accomplished Sr. GL Accountant to join a hospitality organization in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In this role, you will lead core accounting activities, help deliver reliable financial reporting, and play a key part in the monthly close cycle. This position partners closely with finance leadership to strengthen controls, support compliance efforts, and improve the efficiency of day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

• Direct general ledger activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, maintaining account accuracy, and completing reconciliations on schedule.

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure financial results are recorded completely, accurately, and within established deadlines.

• Produce monthly financial reports, including budget-to-actual comparisons and clear analysis of key variances.

• Oversee routine accounting functions across payables, receivables, payroll, and income review to support smooth financial operations.

• Evaluate departmental spending, inventory-related activity, and overall financial results to identify trends and areas requiring attention.

• Coordinate audit support by preparing documentation for internal reviews, external audits, tax-related matters, and compliance requirements.

• Strengthen accounting procedures by recommending and implementing improvements to workflows, controls, and reporting practices.

• Provide guidance and day-to-day support to accounting team members through training, review, and performance oversight.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior responsibility for guiding or supervising others.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience preparing financial statements and interpreting variances against budgets or forecasts.
• Background in hospitality, resort finance, or audit environments is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with internal controls, compliance expectations, and standard accounting practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise accounting platforms; Oracle experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
