The bookkeeper manages all core accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and administrative functions to support a small, team-oriented organization. This role maintains accurate financial records, oversees accounts payable and receivable, processes payroll, and supports HR documentation and office operations in a fully onsite environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the company’s accounting and bookkeeping functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and execute month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and financial schedules.
• Process vendor invoices and maintain accurate accounts payable records.
• Manage vendor relationships, including monitoring payment terms and maintaining payment schedules.
• Generate customer invoices based on project and billing information provided by internal stakeholders.
• Oversee collections activities by monitoring customer accounts and following up on outstanding balances.
• Reconcile customer accounts and promptly resolve billing discrepancies or disputes.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated experience managing accounting and bookkeeping functions, including general ledger maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with bookkeeping activities such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end processes.
• Experience with accounting and payroll functions, including processing payroll and handling related compliance tasks.
• Ability to perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations accurately and on a regular schedule.
• Strong understanding of month-end and year-end closing activities and related documentation.
• Proficiency in managing vendor invoices, accounts payable records, and payment schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and receive training on HR responsibilities and processes.
• Experience with Sage 50 accounting software is a plus.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St Paul, MN.

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.65/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in St Paul,MN.
