Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the accounting operations of a growing organization. This position will assist with month-end close, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and other ongoing accounting activities. This position is direct hire and 100% onsite in Cincinnati Ohio. Pay for this role will range between $55K and $70K annually. Job Duties Support the monthly closing process by completing assigned accounting activities accurately and within established deadlines. Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaid expenses, recurring transactions, and account adjustments. Reconcile general ledger, bank, intercompany, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Research account discrepancies and analyze differences between actual results, budgets, forecasts, and prior periods. Assist with preparing financial statements, supporting schedules, and internal management reports. Maintain complete and organized documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions. Coordinate with internal departments to collect, review, and validate accounting information. Track capital expenditures and construction-related costs while assisting with periodic reporting. Monitor cash balances, funding needs, and other routine cash management activities. Provide support during budgeting, forecasting, audit, and year-end reporting processes. Respond to accounting questions and special requests from leadership and external auditors. Recommend improvements that strengthen accuracy, internal controls, and accounting efficiency. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. One to three years of accounting experience, including exposure to month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Strong internship experience will be considered as well. Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and basic formulas. Experience using accounting or ERP software is preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
