Acme Multi‑Spindle Screw Machinist — Loves Park, IL
Picture your day starting at 6:00 AM in our Loves Park, IL facility. You review the work order, scan the blueprint, and plan your setup on an Acme multi‑spindle screw machine. By 2:30 PM , you've produced precise components that meet spec, documented your run data, and partnered with teammates to keep production moving smoothly—all in a supportive, innovative environment.
A day in the lifeYou'll begin by selecting tooling and setting up the machine to meet print requirements. You dial in feeds, speeds, and offsets; perform a careful first‑piece inspection with calipers and micrometers ; and make fine adjustments to achieve quality and efficiency. Throughout the shift, you monitor operations, proactively troubleshoot, and complete routine maintenance to minimize downtime. You keep your area clean and safe, follow company policies, and communicate with your team to hit production goals and deadlines. Every part is verified against the blueprint and work order, and you record production results and flag any discrepancies to your supervisor.
What you’ll handle- Set up and operate Acme multi‑spindle screw machines to produce precision parts to specification.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to plan setups.
- Monitor machine performance; adjust tools and parameters to maintain quality and throughput.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to reduce downtime.
- Document production data; report irregularities and nonconformances promptly.
- Collaborate with the team to meet daily targets while maintaining a safe, orderly work area.
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM • Location: Loves Park, IL
What you bring- High school diploma or equivalent; machining coursework/certification is a plus.
- Hands‑on experience as a screw machinist or in closely related precision turning work.
- Solid knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving mindset, and pride in quality work.
- Comfort working both independently and within a collaborative team.
- Clear communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Proficiency with inspection tools, including calipers and micrometers .
