Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs for adult and pediatric patients in an outpatient dermatology clinic.
• Prepare patients for examinations by positioning, draping, and recording medical histories, medications, and allergies.
• Assist providers with procedures such as biopsies, dressing changes, and wound care, maintaining aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Set up and assist with specimen collection, including labeling of specimens.
• Perform rooming patients, suture removal, and wound care procedures as needed.
• Set up and maintain sterile procedure trays, ensuring compliance with infection control standards.
• Chart and document patient interactions accurately using the electronic health record system (EPIC experience required).
• Float between locations such as West Seattle, Bellevue, and Issaquah to support staffing needs.

Required Skills

• Ability to obtain vital signs efficiently and accurately.
• Proficiency in preparing patients for exams, including positioning, draping, and history taking.
• Experience setting up and assisting with dermatology procedures such as biopsies and dressing changes.
• Knowledge of specimen labeling and collection procedures.
• Strong aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Experience rooming patients and providing wound care.
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system (experience required).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C); candidates with registration, phlebotomy, or hemodialysis credentials are not qualified for this role.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an outpatient clinic setting, preferably dermatology.
• Current valid state license or compact license in hand at the time of submission.
• Reliable transportation (not public transportation) to commute to multiple clinic locations in the region.
• This position is for local candidates within a 50-mile radius of Seattle, WA; local travel and travel outside this radius are not accepted.
• Shift: Day shift, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Willingness to work three of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• References covering at least 6 months within the last 3 years are required.
