Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position requiring 2 years of experience and float pool flexibility across multiple hospital units.

Details

• Float pool position covering ED, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU units
• Patient ratios up to 1:7 in Med-Surg and 1:4-6 on other units
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be flexible to facility scheduling with no schedule requests accommodated

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, respiratory care, IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and cardiac drip management
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• ICU/ED experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple hospital units based on facility staffing needs
• Monitor cardiac telemetry both on-unit and remotely, and respond to emergent cardiac events
• Manage isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized prior to start
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or are deemed unable to return must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
