Inside Manufacturing Sales Representative

Location EQS New Castle PA EQS New Castle PA 700 Moravia St New Castle, PA 16101, USA About the Position Utilizing independent judgment, this position is responsible to meet customer sales/service needs, solve problems and take advantage of selling opportunities. This position reports to the Director of Sales. Responsibilities Respond to customer inquiries and requests for information, service, and status including possible recommendations of material grades or specifications. Interact with customers; submit non-conforming material (NCM) to customers and handle customer complaints. Calculate pricing for different grades of steel within set parameters. Have authority to change pricing, as needed. Work collaboratively with internal staff including Operations and Production Planner to meet customers’ sales/service needs, solve problems, and take advantage of selling opportunities. Determine and implement mode of transportation for respective customers and have authority to change transportation mode. Work with Accounting to resolve customer credit issues. Make occasional sales visits to customers for sales calls, as needed. Provide backup to the department, as needed. Abide by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules. Must have the ability and desire to work well with others. Meet attendance requirements. Perform other duties as deemed necessary. Post-secondary education (Associates, Bachelors Degree) preferred with a strong background in industrial sales or customer service. Experience: Prior industrial sales, marketing, and quoting experience preferred. Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) preferred. Ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization. Strong work ethic. Driving is a function of this position but not a requirement in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Safety Program. Driver’s license will be monitored for valid and active status.
