Step into a rewarding contract position supporting middle school students in a self-contained autism classroom. This full-time, onsite role serves grades 6-8, where your expertise and compassion will make a daily impact on learners’ growth and achievement.

Ideal candidates bring a solid background in special education, particularly with middle school students and autism support. Your leadership and collaborative mindset will be key as you design and implement individualized instructional plans, foster social-emotional development, and partner closely with families and school staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
• Experience teaching grades 6-8 in a self-contained or autism classroom setting
• Deep understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and behavior management techniques
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Passion for advocating for students with diverse needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated, engaging instruction tailored to each student’s IEP goals
• Support students’ academic, behavioral, and functional development
• Collect and analyze data to chart progress and inform instructional decisions
• Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families
• Maintain a safe, supportive class environment that promotes independence and success
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary teams
