Principal Speech Recognition Researcher (Onsite)

RTX BBN Technologies, a premier research and development center of RTX, is seeking a Principal Researcher in its Analytics and Machine Intelligence business unit to perform technical work for a government customer. The position is an onsite customer role in Columbia, MD. What You Will Do Research, develop, and implement novel algorithms for solving customer challenges related to Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR). Develop software systems to train and test ASR systems. Build new ASR models for customer data and domain. Interface with DoD clients supporting ASR research systems. Qualifications Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph) required prior to start. Typical requirement: University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 5 years of experience. Experience with Python programming. Experience with Linux command line. Experience with machine learning. Empirical research experience. Preferred Qualifications Bash programming. An inquisitive personality. Hands‑on experience with speech recognition technologies. Experience with ESPnet. Experience with PyTorch. Knowledge of software development in Python.
