Job Description Perform complex consultative services and technical assistance in the Single Audit Unit of the Compliance and Quality Control Division. Plan, develop, implement, utilize, and evaluate single audit program activities and systems. Coordinate and communicate with Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) funding agencies, vendors and contractors to support single audit reporting requirements. Provide consultative services and technical assistance to HHS program staff and vendors/contractors. Act as a liaison between program staff and vendors/contractors and provide guidance as needed. Work under general supervision of the SAU manager with moderate latitude for independent judgment. Essential Job Functions Attend work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and perform other duties as assigned. Serve as a liaison to HHS program staff regarding requirements for management responses for reported audit findings. Communicate and coordinate with HHS program staff on the submission of management responses to SAU. Perform quality assurance. Manage automated systems and process notifications of single audit requirements and delinquencies to HHS vendors/contractors and HHS program staff. Maintain a tracking sheet and data system for single audit notifications, tracking notifications for due dates. Provide consultative and technical assistance to HHS vendors/contractors and program staff relating to single audit reporting and submission requirements. Respond to single audit inquiries via telephone or in writing. Escalate issues to SAU management when needed to ensure timely and accurate resolution. Provide technical support services including running reports from an HHS system and creating annual and quarterly subrecipient lists for uploading into a data system. Provide ad hoc reports to program staff, HHS vendors/contractors, and CQC management. Participate in the development and updating of processes, policies, and procedures; provide technical services in support of SAU goals and objectives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of state and federal laws relating to single audit reporting requirements (preferred). Skill in using database and other automated systems. Skill in using Windows-based programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet. Skill in interpersonal relations and conflict resolution. Ability to work and interact with people with diverse backgrounds. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to exercise judgment and work independently with minimum supervision. Initial Screening Criteria Experience with database and other automated systems. Experience with tracking critical dates and meeting deadlines. Experience with assessing the relevance and sufficiency of information. Experience using Windows-based programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Full‑time, non‑exempt position based in Austin, Texas. Eligible for telework.
