What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care to adults on the PCU, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, post-heart catheterization, and post-arteriogram
• Manage patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications, including drips titrated for conditions like Levophed, Amiodarone, and Insulin
• Manage complex lines such as CVLs, arterial lines, and Foley catheters
• Support patient safety by completing EKG competency exams and following strict protocol
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including charge nurses, RTs, and hospitalists
• Ensure accurate documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Assist with patient transitions and support other staff as needed

What You Need

• Required:
  • Active RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure transfer
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Preferred:
  • Experience managing complex medical equipment and lines
  • Strong assessment skills and adaptability to float across units (Stroke, Medsurg)
  • Flexible schedule to work rotating weekends and major holidays
