Special Education Teacher | New Castle, Delaware

Job Description

Make a significant impact as a Special Education Teacher in an inspiring contract role supporting K-12 students. Serving a caseload of 15 students, you’ll deliver personalized instruction designed to foster growth, independence, and a love of learning. Collaborate with a dedicated school community to create a supportive, inclusive environment where every child’s abilities shine.

Start your new assignment promptly, with an end date of June 11, 2027, providing stable and rewarding work for the coming years. With a 37.5-hour, five-day workweek, you’ll have the structure and continuity to develop meaningful relationships and see genuine progress in your students.

Qualifications:

Active Delaware Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
Experience teaching in K-12 settings, preferably in special education
Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Responsibilities:

Educate and inspire a caseload of 15 students with diverse learning needs
Develop and monitor IEPs tailored to individual student goals
Employ a variety of instructional strategies to support each child’s unique strengths
Assess and document student progress, regularly communicating updates to families and staff
Collaborate with a team of educators and support personnel to maximize student success
