Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing organization that supports highly regulated industries, including manufacturing, aerospace, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and industrial services. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the month-end close process, improving financial processes, and partnering with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about maintaining financial accuracy while helping drive operational improvements. Experience in service-based or regulated industries is a plus. Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP. Analyze financial results and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet accounts. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting. Support external audits and prepare requested schedules and documentation. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Partner with operations and department leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations. Assist with process improvements and accounting system enhancements. Support tax filings, sales tax reporting, and other compliance-related activities as needed. Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP or accounting systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functional. CPA designation or CPA track preferred but not required. Preferred Experience Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, engineering, aerospace, healthcare, or other regulated industries. Experience supporting audits and maintaining strong internal controls. Familiarity with inventory, job costing, or project accounting is a plus.
