About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Allied Health Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Weekend Overnights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two years of Level 1 Trauma Center experience required License: NYS CT Tech License required Certifications: BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) required Must-Have: - Injection therapy certification (must obtain prior to starting position) - Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology - Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred Description: Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan. Strictly adhere to department policy and procedure for patient safety. Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging. Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable. Insert IVs when necessary for the test. Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling. Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within the electronic health record system. Ensure identifying images are sent to the imaging system correctly upon exam completion. Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. A patient and compassionate disposition is required. Must be a team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment.
