Work Environment

This position is onsite, primarily involving home care for orthopedic patients across the San Francisco area. You will work directly in the patients' homes, allowing for a more personalized and convenient rehabilitation experience. The environment is collaborative, where you will coordinate closely with our licensed physical therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of patients' functional abilities and limitations to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Administer various physical therapy modalities—including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation—to aid in the rehabilitation process.
• Guide patients through specific exercises and functional activities, such as bed mobility, transfers, gait training, and balance exercises.
• Monitor patient progress throughout therapy sessions, documenting observations and reporting any changes in status to supervising physical therapists.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and strategies to maintain functional independence post-treatment.
• Train and mentor new staff members on essential technical skills and best practices in patient care.
• Stay updated on the latest evidence-based practices to continually improve patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal issues. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program.
• Current California Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing effective interaction with diverse patient populations.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior staff in a clinical setting.
