Field Service Technician (Iowa City-Cedar Rapids Area)

We're seeking a Field Service Technician to support the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of load bank equipment used in mission-critical data center environments. This field-based role supports customers throughout the Cedar Rapids metro area, with approximately 90–95% travel to customer sites. This is a 6-month contract position located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

CONTRACT COMP: Up to $45/hr depending on the candidate's experience, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain load bank equipment at customer locations.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and PLC/HMI-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency service calls.
• Document service activities and communicate findings with customers and internal teams.
• Ensure all work is completed safely while following LOTO, PPE, and site-specific safety requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• 3+ years of industrial field service experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with pumps, valves, piping, PLCs/HMIs, or similar industrial equipment.
• Ability to work independently and travel extensively throughout the Southeast.
• Valid driver's license required.
