Senior Specialist Procurement - Plastics

Abbott seeks a Senior Procurement Specialist for Plastics to drive global procurement strategy across operations. This role executes sourcing initiatives, manages supplier relationships, and integrates technology to enhance sustainability while meeting regulatory and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Execute plastics category sourcing strategies across North America and global sites
- Lead supplier identification, evaluation, selection, and competitive bidding processes
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering for plastic materials
- Monitor market trends, resin pricing, and supplier performance; manage contracts and compliance
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to align specifications with business needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years procurement or supply chain experience, preferably plastics or packaging
- Strong supplier negotiation, contracting, and relationship management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Access, and data analytics tools
- Experience with AI tools, digital procurement platforms, and sustainability initiatives
- ISM or APICS certification preferred; Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
- Project management experience or PMP certification preferred; ability to travel 15%
Compensation: $78,000–$156,000 base
