Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner Locum Tenens Opportunity Northern California

We are seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment supporting a high-acuity outpatient oncology and infusion center environment in Northern California.

This is a full-time opportunity working within a collaborative cancer care team managing urgent oncology needs, infusion reactions, and acute patient care coordination.

• Schedule options include:

  • 4x10-hour shifts

  • 5x8-hour shifts

• Weekend rotation required

• No call responsibilities

• Outpatient oncology infusion center

• Cancer acute care clinic

• Hospital-affiliated setting

• Epic EMR

Providers will independently manage:

• Same-day oncology triage patients

• Infusion reactions and urgent oncology issues

• Transfers and direct admissions

• Care coordination with inpatient oncology services

• Oncology patient management from diagnosis through treatment

The APP team operates in a highly autonomous consultative model, collaborating closely with oncology physicians, nurses, and infusion staff.

• Approximately patients per day

• Adult and adolescent oncology patients

• Active California NP license required

• Board certification required (ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC)

• California DEA Schedule II required

• ACLS certification required

• Minimum 2 years of oncology experience required

Ideal candidates will have:

• Oncology inpatient experience

• Infusion center experience

• Emergency, urgent care, or critical care experience

• Strong oncology disease management background

Preferred:

• OCN or AOCNP certification

• Collaborative multidisciplinary oncology environment

• Fast-paced acute care oncology setting

• Overtime opportunities available after scheduled shift hours and weekly thresholds
