The Pharmacy Services Representative supports a closed-door mail order pharmacy by delivering exceptional customer service, accurately processing prescriptions, and assisting pharmacists with safe and efficient medication dispensing. This role combines direct patient and provider support, detailed order and data processing, and active participation in quality assurance and operational improvement initiatives within a growing and supportive organization.

• Provide a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and managing escalations with professionalism and empathy.
• Respond to patient and provider questions related to medication orders, delivery status, and general pharmacy services.
• Process customer orders accurately and ensure timely fulfillment through the mail order pharmacy system.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently according to prescriptions.
• Label and package medications for mail order distribution, ensuring all prescriptions are filled correctly and meet quality standards.
• Verify patient information and prescription details for accuracy before processing and dispensing.
• Perform DUR (Drug Utilization Review) checks and drug interaction checks in accordance with pharmacy protocols and regulations.
• Follow up with patients and healthcare providers to clarify prescription details, confirm therapy, and support continuity of care.
• Respond to two-way texting communications with patients and providers in a timely and professional manner.
• Input prescription data and related information into the pharmacy information system with a high degree of accuracy.
• Monitor and maintain medication inventory levels to support uninterrupted pharmacy operations.
• Order medications and supplies as needed and assist with regular inventory checks and inventory audits.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to pharmacy practice and mail order operations.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of all prescription orders, transactions, and related documentation.
• Protect the confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency of pharmacy services.
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline customer service and pharmacy operations.
• Report any medication errors or discrepancies promptly to the supervising pharmacist and support corrective actions.
• Assist pharmacists with administrative tasks as needed, including documentation, filing, and communication.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy work area.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with pharmacy practices and technologies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations and patient care.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a retail or mail order pharmacy environment.
• Active pharmacy technician license or certification as required by state law.
• Experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy services representative in a call center or mail order setting.
• Proficiency in performing data entry accurately and efficiently within pharmacy software systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing prescriptions and entering data.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with patients and healthcare providers by phone, text, and other channels.
• Ability to handle phone calls and two-way texting in a professional, empathetic, and solution-focused manner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to retail and mail order pharmacy.
• Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and related technology.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet timelines for order processing and customer support.

• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician Board Certification is a plus.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential is highly valued.
• Experience working in a mail order or closed-door pharmacy environment.
• Background in customer service, including call center or high-volume customer support settings.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle escalated issues with composure and professionalism.
• Commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and adherence to quality assurance standards.

This role is based in a closed-door mail order pharmacy environment, focused on processing and shipping prescriptions rather than walk-in retail service. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break, and the pharmacy is closed on major holidays and weekends. The organization is a small but rapidly growing company where executive leadership is visible, supportive, and engaged, and new roles are frequently created as the pharmacy expands. Team members work with pharmacy information systems, communication tools for phone and two-way texting, and inventory management technology in a fast-paced yet collaborative setting. The work area is structured, organized, and designed for efficient mail order operations, with an emphasis on accuracy, safety, and compliance. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
