Visit us at the RoleMonotype is seeking a Director of Strategic Initiatives to lead the execution of high-priority strategic and operational initiatives across the business. This newly created role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, transformation, and execution, and is designed to accelerate Monotype’s most important enterprise priorities.The Director will own complex, cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through implementation, partnering closely with leaders across Commercial, Finance, Legal, Customer Success, Data, Product, and Technology. This role will be responsible for eliminating process debt, improving operating discipline, building scalable governance mechanisms, and delivering measurable operational improvements across the company.The ideal candidate is a high-agency operator who can move seamlessly between strategic problem-solving and hands-on execution. They will bring structure to ambiguity, align stakeholders around decisions, and drive initiatives to completion with urgency, precision, and strong business judgment.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end delivery of high-priority cross-functional initiatives, including scoping problems, defining success metrics, building execution plans, managing dependencies, driving decision-making, and ensuring measurable outcomes.Identify, prioritize, and resolve operational bottlenecks across core business functions, with a focus on scalable process improvements, automation, systems alignment, and permanent fixes rather than short-term workarounds.Design and operationalize governance mechanisms that connect Monotype’s strategic priorities to day-to-day execution, including KPA frameworks, operating dashboards, QBRs, executive governance forums, and initiative tracking.Partner with technical AI teams and business leaders to identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact AI use cases that create meaningful operational leverage, reduce manual work, and improve speed, quality, or scalability.Serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders across the business, aligning stakeholders, resolving ambiguity, escalating risks, and ensuring accountability across functions and workstreams.Lead initiatives that improve the effectiveness of key commercial, financial, legal, customer, data, and operational systems, ensuring that processes are clearly defined, measurable, and scalable.Provide support on select high-priority strategic projects, including M&A-related work, partnerships, transformation programs, and strategy communication or dissemination as needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Operations, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.8+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, business operations, transformation, commercial operations, or a related function.Prior experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic operations, or an equivalent high-performance operating environment.Demonstrated track record leading complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives from strategy through execution.Experience working directly with senior executives and functional leaders to drive alignment, decisions, and accountability.Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, including timelines, owners, dependencies, risks, and executive-level reporting.Strong analytical foundation, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, interpret data, identify root causes, and translate insights into action.Experience improving business processes, operating models, governance systems, or enterprise workflows.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex issues into clear executive-ready recommendations.What’s in it for youHybrid work arrangements and competitive paid time off programs.Comprehensive commercial medical insurance coverage to meet all your healthcare needs.Competitive compensation with corporate bonus program & uncapped commission for quota-carrying SalesA creative, innovative, and global working environment in the creative and software technology industryHighly engaged Events Committee to keep work enjoyable.Reward & Recognition Programs (including President's Club for all functions)Professional onboarding program, including robust targeted training for Sales functionDevelopment and advancement opportunities (high internal mobility across organization)Retirement planning options to save for your future, and so much more!The US pay range for this position is $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 annual base salary for external candidates with the appropriate level of experience. A corporate bonus will also be offered as part of this role. The final annual base salary offered will be based on location and experience level, and could be less for internal applicants depending upon experience.
