Work Environment

As a physical therapist working onsite, you will primarily provide care in patients' homes, allowing for a personalized approach to therapy. You will work Monday to Friday, with rotating weekend shifts to ensure that our patients receive the necessary care at all times. The role demands a combination of clinical expertise, empathy, and adaptability as you navigate different home environments and cater to diverse patient circumstances. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed patient evaluations, setting achievable goals and designing effective treatment plans aligned with physician orders.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to patient care, including treatment notes, evaluations, and discharge summaries, using professional terminology to support each patient's therapeutic necessity.

• Administer therapy interventions tailored to each patient's needs, taking into account their age, development, and specific impairments or disabilities.

• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on the efficacy of previous interventions, ensuring optimal outcomes.

• Supervise the activities of Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and other support personnel to ensure an effective and efficient provision of care.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to implement and assess comprehensive treatment strategies.

• Provide leadership within the team, offering constructive feedback and suggestions to enhance productivity and foster a supportive atmosphere for professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve interacting with patients of various ages, including children, adults, and seniors, who are experiencing physical limitations due to injury, surgery, or chronic health conditions. Your approach will focus on creating individualized care plans that facilitate rehabilitation and improve functional independence in daily activities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university.

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to patients and their families.

• Proficiency in using word processing and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring efficient documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience working in a physical therapy or rehabilitation setting, with particular emphasis on home care is highly desirable.

• Experience working with a varied patient demographic, particularly in home environments, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
