Description
  • Assess patients of all ages using standardized evaluations and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies that address immediate goals alongside overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver focused individual speech therapy sessions concentrating on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
  • Collaborate efficiently with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure comprehensive care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress outside of treatment sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, guaranteeing a continuity of care throughout the entire healing process.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and teamwork to stay informed about advancements in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
  • Licensed to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days of joining.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies across all age groups, with an insightful understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing impairments.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, fostering engaging interactions with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Exceptional clinical judgment and problem-resolution skills.
  • Comfortable navigating electronic health records and documentation protocols.
