About the Position

Job Title: Float Pool Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting License: Must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission Certifications: Current BCLS certification; proficiency in ACLS is preferred; CPI and NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:4-5 Strong communication and teamwork skills Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail Description: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting. Demonstrate flexibility to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity as needed. Availability for weekdays and some weekends, including holidays. Proficient in IV start and telemetry monitoring. Experience with electronic health records systems is required. Candidates must complete fingerprinting as soon as they sign the contract. Travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of being pushed or canceled. Two professional references are required. At least one reference must be from a manager or director, or someone in a formal leadership capacity. No coworker references will be accepted. Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for six months or more. Current employees are ineligible for hire as travelers. Education must be from an accredited program.
