Assistant Microbiologist I - 3rd shift - Columbus Plant

Abbott Nutrition seeks an Assistant Microbiologist I for third-shift laboratory work at the Columbus, Ohio manufacturing facility. The role involves microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished nutrition products to ensure manufacturing quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological analysis of raw ingredients, in-process samples, and finished products
• Conduct environmental monitoring to verify product fitness for use
• Prepare culture media and perform general laboratory housekeeping
• Document results, troubleshoot issues, and support assigned projects
• Communicate findings and collaborate with microbiologist team members

Requirements

• Associate degree in science plus 2 years laboratory experience or 4 years food/pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for infant formula and nutritional products
• Experience in food, pharmaceutical, medical device plant, or medical laboratory setting
• Bachelor's degree in science (preferred)
• LIMS, aseptic technique, and gram staining experience (preferred)

Compensation: $19.05–$38.15/hour
