Job Title Accounts Payable Lead Reports To Accounting Manager Position Summary The Accounts Payable Lead provides essential support to the Accounting department, primarily within the Accounts Payable and other general Accounting functions. This role serves as a critical connector between the accounting team and project management throughout the full life cycle of all active projects. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, generally working approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Key Responsibilities Accounts payable posting and payment reconciliation. Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation. Support project accounting, sales and use tax, and financial reporting. Maintain and review accounts payable, employee expense and per diem reports. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and summaries for management: support month-end and year-end close activities. Assist in special projects, including preparing information for audit/review. Provide backup for billing, AR and AP functions of the business. Assist Controller and other accounting department personnel as necessary. Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and standards. Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities. Other duties as assigned. Skills And Competencies Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work. Team oriented with the initiative and accountability to work independently when needed. Sound reasoning, judgment and problem solving abilities. Required Qualifications Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance; equivalent work experience will be considered. 2+ years accounting work experience is required. Must have a strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced. Excel Skills Is Strongly Preferred. Accounts Payable experience preferred. Construction industry experience a plus. Experience with an ERP or construction accounting platform is preferred. What do we offer?
