Benefits vary by location and are subject to any legal requirements or limitations, employee eligibility status, and where the employee lives and/or works.Job ResponsibilitiesProvides patrol of buildings and surrounding propertySchedules and assigns daily work assignments and/or projects to a teamCoordinates completion of tasksProtects property and staff by maintaining safe and secure surroundingsMonitor and control access at building entrances and admits appropriate personnel and/or guestsUnlocks buildings/doors after checking identificationResponds to all emergency situationsMaintains confidentiality of security informationEnsures security of company assetsPatrols assigned areas on foot, checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons or safety/fire hazardsInvestigate and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to General Manager for correction or follow-up actionsChecks doors and windows of buildings to ensure they are tightly closed and locked; notes in written log any unlocked doors/windows; submits information to supervisorAssists any persons in building or on grounds needing directions or informationEscorts people/property to desired destination when monies, documents or safety of property or persons are a concernResponds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitationsDecides when incident requires written report; decides which report form to use and submits to supervisorUnlocks buildings/doors after checking identificationConducts investigations and prepares accurate and complete written reportsMay assist on-duty law enforcement officers with crowd control and surveillance at large public eventsAssist with traffic controlQualificationsAt least one year of experience in law enforcement requiredPrevious experience as a security officer requiredPrevious experience in a lead security role preferredRequires full understanding and knowledge of law enforcementAbility to assess situations and handle them accordinglyAble to handle a degree of self autonomyMust hold proper license based on state/local regulationsMust have the ability to work independently with limited supervisionDemonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenRequires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbRequires frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairsMust be able to work days, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays as required by location
