About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join its team during a pivotal period of growth and transformation. The COO will serve as the primary strategic partner to the CEO, playing a key role in the evolution of the organization's operating plan, structure, and culture. This executive will be responsible for maturing the operational systems of the institution, directly managing an expanding team across various functional areas, and ensuring a culture of operational excellence and mission delivery. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative, creative, and entrepreneurial spirit, with a proven track record of guiding institutions through significant growth and change. Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, operational and team excellence, technology and human resources optimization, and transition and scale execution. Candidates for the COO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and at least 10 years' of executive operating experience in a nonprofit, cultural institution, or public-facing organization. The role requires a leader with a minimum of 5 years' of senior executive management experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire staff through periods of transformation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in scaling organizations, professionalizing operations, and managing transitions, as well as the ability to make sound, high-stakes decisions in a fast-paced environment. Essential qualifications include exceptional communication skills, a people-centered approach to HR strategy, and a commitment to the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity. The position demands a resourceful individual with a proven ability to drive strategic change and maximize resources, and who is available for in-person work, including weekends, as required.
