Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant with a school-based contract opportunity near Elgin, IL. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about making an impact in an educational setting, working directly with children from Pre-K through transition age (up to 22 years old). Qualifications & Experience:
- Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous school-based experience highly preferred
- Comfortable working in an itinerant capacity across various school sites (elementary, middle, and high school)
- Must complete required fingerprinting and credentialing prior to start
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy support under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Assist students in developing functional skills that promote independence and participation in the school environment
- Travel between assigned school locations within the district to serve diverse caseloads
- Collaborate with teachers, OTs, and school staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school district policies
- Adapt strategies to accommodate different developmental stages and learning abilities
