COMPANY OVERVIEW At HTG we are always looking for great talent come join our TEAM We believe in teamwork innovation professionalism and long term decision making We recognize the need to be flexible entrepreneurial and aggressive both as individuals and as a company We encourage creativity flexibility and innovative approaches to our work We always do what is fair right and ethical Housing Trust Group HTG is an award winning full service developer of multifamily residential communities who real estate transactions exceed 4 billion in commercial land and residential developments across Florida the southeastern US including Texas Illinois and Arizona HTG develops builds and manages a diverse portfolio of affordable housing workforce housing market rate housing mixed income and mixed use developments Housing Trust Group offers competitive pay scales and full benefit packages including Health Dental Vision Life Insurance and 401K plans Housing Trust Group is an equal opportunity employer SUMMARY We currently have a unique opportunity for an experienced Development Staff Accountant who will focus on real estate development primarily in the low income housing tax credit industry The Development Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial management and reporting of development projects within the organization This position is responsible for assisting in various accounting functions financial analysis and reporting related to development activities The Development Staff Accountant collaborates closely with project managers finance teams and other departments to ensure accurate financial data and support decision making processes ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain accurate and up to date general ledger entries for development projectsReconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely mannerPrepare financial reports related to development projects including budget vs actual analysis variance explanationsPrepare monthly construction Loan Requisitions Draw packageFollow up with lenders to ensure timely and accurate processing of Draws and resolve any issues or discrepanciesCollaborate with project managers to review project budgets ensuring alignment with overall financial objectivesTrack development project costs and expenses ensuring adherence to approved budgetsPrepare Job Cost reconciliationsReview project related invoices and expenses ensuring proper coding and documentationAssist in the preparation of audit schedules and support auditors during financial auditsEnsure compliance with accounting principles company policies and relevant regulationsCollaborate with cross functional teams including finance operations and project management to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the development process EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business experience2 years experience in constructionreal estate development accounting LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations SKILLS Proficiency and aptitude for general accounting software programs including Microsoft Office and YardiSelf motivated decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demandsExperience working both independently and in a team oriented collaborative environmentStrong communication interpersonal and leadership skillsDemonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems making decisions and identifying prioritiesAdept at conducting research into project related issues and productsTime management skills especially familiarity with calendar management and goal setting PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This is largely a sedentary role; however some lifting up to 10lbs walking bending and standing for short periods of time may be necessary Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions #J-18808-Ljbffr Housing Trust Group
