Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

Location

Denver Metro Area (Zone 3), Colorado – Multi-Facility Float (Lakewood, Longmont, Westminster)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a Medical Surgical/Telemetry float pool covering multiple facilities within a defined geographic zone, including units such as Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
• Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, neurological disorders, orthopedic and post-surgical cases, oncology, renal/urology, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
• Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients requiring RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP as needed
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 based on acuity, with nurse aide support available on units
• Adapt to two scheduling formats: scheduled at a single facility for the week (with possible intra-facility floating) or Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments communicated 1–2 hours before shift start
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must reside at least 60 miles from each facility within the assigned zone; valid driver's license required
• Must be available and present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Flexibility to float across acuity levels including MS-Tele, PCU/Stepdown, and ICU (low-acuity holds within skillset)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a neuro nursing setting strongly preferred
• Experience working in a float pool or multi-facility travel assignment
• Comfort with Just-In-Time scheduling and adaptability to varying unit environments
