Description


Beaufort Memorial, a not-for-profit hospital, is excited to bring its Hospital Department services in-house and is seeking additional board-certified Hospital Medicine Physicians to join our dedicated team. The hospitalist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to hospitalized patients. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure effective communication, and facilitate smooth transitions of care within the hospital and upon discharge.

About the opportunity:

• Join a team of board-certified Hospital Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
• Shift lengths: 12-hour shifts 7a-7p, 7p-7a
• Average patients load is 18-20
• Diverse case mix
• 24/7 in-house support from Anesthesia, Pediatric Hospitalists and Hospitalists
• Manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and complex medical cases.
• Trama surgery available on-call
• Access to a wide range of on-call specialties: Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, ENT, GI, Nephrology, General Surgery and Vascular Surgery
• Intensivist coverage in-house from 7A-7P; Hospitalists cover ICU overnight with intensivist on call
• The ED will respond to hospital airways or codes

Position Requirements


Must be familiar with a wide range of ailments, diseases, disorders and injuries. Develops treatment plans individualized to the patient's needs. Implements treatment plans, writes orders for medications, treatments, tests, and provides patient care. Perform minor procedures for which they can exhibit competencies.

Education:

• Current South Carolina M.D. or D.O. required.

Experience:

• Must have successfully completed a post-graduate residency program

Certifications/Licenses:

• Must have a valid, current and unrestricted SC medical license.
• Must have current state and federal controlled substance licenses.
