Project Controls Cost Specialist in Lake Mary

ReNuke Services is seeking a Project Controls Cost Analyst II for our client site in Lake Mary, FL. Description This is an intermediate level position on a Project Controls team. Workers at this level are responsible for initiating and completing routine aspects of project cost control assignments with general oversight. This individual will be expected to work with a small team of Project Controls Analysts and Schedulers. The position will perform cost analysis, forecasting, change control, and reporting for a portfolio of projects budgeted to spend tens of millions during the fiscal year. They must be able to compare monthly actuals to the project baseline, identify variances, while simultaneously monitoring the projects’ baseline plans and the fiscal budget. Generate Periodic Project Controls Analytics. Create periodic project analysis of gathered data through verification and validation in order to support project controls metrics. Responsible for distributing and archiving project controls analysis as appropriate. This position will work in partnership with a more experienced Project Controls lead. Requirements A basic understanding of budgets, direct and indirect labor charges, accruals, overheads, amortization, allocations is a critical knowledge requirement. The individual selected for this role must have strong problem‑solving skills and technical skills with the proven ability to integrate large amounts of data from multiple databases or systems. Experience working in a PMO environment or on a project controls team is not required but is a plus. Exposure to energy‑related projects is not required but is a plus. While project scheduling experience may be helpful, this is a cost‑control focused role and will not require any project scheduling. This position typically is assigned to multiple “White” and possibly “Green” projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix. How do you identify and manage cost risks in a project? Explain the difference between cost estimating and cost budgeting. How does a cost management plan contribute to effective project controls?
