Principal Program Manager, Go-To-Market

Role Description

As Principal Program Manager, Go-To-Market, you own two equal pillars of go-to-market execution for Product & Technical Marketing (PTM):

• You are the strategic and hands-on architect behind GitLab's high-stakes minor and major launches, redesigning the launch operating model with AI agents at its core.
• You run program management on key initiatives that span Product Management and Product Design through Growth Marketing, Comms and Social, and Field Enablement.

PTM team is responsible for:

• Product and solutions marketing
• Technical writing and documentation
• Developer advocacy
• Globalization

You are AI-first by default, converting manual steps into team-wide AI workflows. You drive solutions with stakeholders, create clarity in ambiguity, and institutionalize a dual operating system in your first year:

• A scalable launch framework for 15+ minor and major launches per year
• A portfolio program practice that maps dependencies from Product and Design through PTM into Growth, Comms, and Field

Reporting to the VP of Product & Technical Marketing, you measure success by:

• Pipeline where it matters
• Brand and community impact

Qualifications

• Program management for go-to-market across the high-tech industry
• Experience building and scaling how programs run in large, distributed orgs
• Hands-on work with AI agents and automations
• A track record of turning manual work into AI workflows
• Strong grasp of product releases and their impact on go-to-market teams
• Clear writing and speaking with executives
• Fluency with project tools with AI automation

Requirements

• Ability to run several high-stakes workstreams at once without dropping quality or trust
• Bias to action for priorities: defining risks and clear options for path forward
• Influence without direct authority, including with senior leaders
• Ability to travel if needed and comply with the company's travel policy
