Quality Assurance Engineer II

Quality Systems EngineerUnited States Steel Corporation has an immediate opening for a Quality Systems Engineer in our Quality Management System/Corporate Quality Assurance organization. This role oversees and improves the Quality Management System to keep business operations compliant with customer and industry standards. This position will be based at our Granite City, IL location with additional responsibility for the coating line at the Fairfield, AL location. The position will involve occasional travel.Responsibilities include the following:Understanding of the Quality Management System policies and procedures including Core Tools, the electronic systems and overall information flow that supports the systemResponsible for successful deployment of Quality Management System to support compliance to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 as well as Customer Specific RequirementsParticipate and drive an internal audit programManage relevant concepts including corrective action, continual improvement, change point management & management review processesCoordinate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance and other departments to ensure training competencies, implement corrective/preventative actions and develop effective practices and proceduresSupport Customer Technical Service and Sales in maintaining their pertinent pieces of the Quality Management SystemRequirements:Bachelor's degree in related fieldMinimum 2 years of experience Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949Minimum five years of experience in manufacturingMinimum two years of experience with AIAG IATF Core ToolsMinimum one year of experience internal Quality Systems auditingOr an equivalent combination of education and experienceRequirements:Strong Technical Writing, Communication and Organizational SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office toolsBase salary range $75,000 - $90,000. This base salary range is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
