Accounting Supervisor

Are you an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in construction accounting ? Our client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day accounting operations while partnering closely with leadership and project teams to drive financial performance and operational success. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and has expertise in job costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, and project-based accounting . Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll coordination, and Bank Reconciliations. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Maintain accurate job costing across multiple construction projects. Prepare and manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting. Track project costs, revenue recognition, budgets, and profitability. Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations teams to review project financial performance. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements. Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, banks, and tax partners. Support ERP/accounting system maintenance and optimization. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5–10+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, mechanical contracting, or project-based industries. Strong experience in: Construction Accounting Job Costing Work-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting Percentage-of-Completion Accounting Project Accounting Experience working in a hands-on accounting role within a small to mid-sized organization. Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage 300, Viewpoint, Foundation , or similar. Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Preferred Qualifications Experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical Contracting, or General Construction . Experience supporting multiple active construction projects.
