Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the Role

PeopleShare is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our finance team. In this role, you will manage customer accounts, ensure timely collections, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and manage customer accounts to collect outstanding balances
Proactively communicate with customers regarding upcoming and past-due invoices
Research and resolve payment discrepancies quickly and accurately
Prepare and process account adjustments (discounts, refunds, fees, etc.)
Issue and distribute invoices to customers
Process customer payments, including credit card transactions
Assist with customer refunds and account reconciliations
Escalate delinquent accounts per company guidelines
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Evaluate credit eligibility for customers requesting payment terms

Qualifications

Education:

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of accounts receivable experience in a corporate setting

Skills:

Strong understanding of accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (M3 preferred)
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
Excellent organization and time management
Strong communication and customer service abilities
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
Team-oriented and adaptable

Work Environment

Primarily office-based role
Combination of independent work and team collaboration
Regular communication with internal departments and external customers

Tools & Equipment

Computer, phone, and standard office equipment
Accounting systems and financial software
Payment processing platforms
