Dental Office Assistant

Responsibilities include assisting our dental staff with examinations and procedures, obtaining dental records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring our patients leave our practice with a smile. Responsibilities: • Give patients advice on a good oral health care regime so they can maintain a healthy smile • Get the patient area ready for any examinations or procedures by preparing equipment like x-ray machines, anesthetics, and impression materials and sanitizing and laying out dental instruments • Work with dentists and dental hygienists during examinations and procedures by assisting with dental instruments and assure the patients’ mouths are comfortable, dry, and accessible to the dentist • Perform administrative duties such as greeting patients, answering phone calls and setting up appointments for dental visits, ordering dental supplies, and handling billing • Provide postoperative instructions to patients so they are informed about how to care for their teeth and gums after procedures to prevent infection • Assisting the dentist during procedures • Preparing and maintaining the treatment area • Sterilizing instruments and equipment • Setting up dental trays before procedures • Cleaning and disinfecting treatment rooms after each patient • Patient care and communication • Taking diagnostic records • Administrative duties • Scheduling appointments • Managing patient records and files • Infection control and safety Qualifications: • Exemplary interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills • Have the ability to give patients exceptional care and service • Associate’s degree from an accredited dental assistance program required • Basic data entry and computer skills Compensation: $25 - $28 hourly
