Accountant

Job Summary / Purpose This role supports core accounting functions, executing key accounting processes, leading system and process improvements, and communicating financial outcomes. Job Duties / Responsibilities Understand and apply accounting principles, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, etc. Own business processes and controls. Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Lead projects or teams. Maintain monthly accounting for billed and unbilled revenues and regulatory assets/liabilities. Prepare monthly financial analyses and explain results to management. Support month‑end close, regulatory filings, and respond to internal/external data requests. Identify continuous improvement opportunities for revenue processes and reporting. Minimum Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience Accountant Lead: 5+ years in banking, finance, project development or related fields. Accountant Senior Lead: 8+ years in the same domains. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in accounting controls and processes. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and business‑process improvement skills. Understanding of the FERC Uniform System of Accounts and Entergy business. Knowledge of Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements and audit coordination. Excellent leadership, organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Proficient with MS Office. Independent and team oriented, focus on process improvement, and project team leadership. Certificates CPA preferred or progressing toward CPA.
