Accounts Payable Clerk

Housing Resources, Inc. (HRI) is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in fulfilling our mission to provide housing solutions for vulnerable people by ensuring financial accuracy, accountability, and integrity in every transaction. Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49008 - Remote/Hybrid work is not available. Successful candidate is expected to work in the office for all scheduled hours. Pay Rate: $25.00/hour Bonus: Up to $1250 annually Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team in Kalamazoo, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor accounts, completing bi-weekly payroll, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in accounts payable processes. Responsibilities Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests. Match purchase orders and receipts to invoices for accuracy. Prepare and process electronic payments and checks. Prepare and submit payroll. Maintain vendor files and resolve discrepancies or billing issues. Reconcile accounts payable transactions and assist with month-end closing. Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed. Qualifications Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role. Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. High school diploma or equivalent; additional accounting training or certification is a plus.
