The ideal candidate should be experienced in managing cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and vascular patients in a fast-paced step-down environment.Required Qualifications\n \n Specialty: RN – Step-Down\n Recent Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Step-Down experience\n Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week\n Weekends: Every Other Weekend (EOW)\n Holidays: Every Other Holiday (EOH)\n Blocked Scheduling: Not available\n Patient Ratio: 1:4–5\n Local Candidates: Accepted\n \n Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local.\n Local bill rate is $15.00 less than the travel rate.\n \n Medication System\n \n Pyxis\n Unit / Patient Population\n The Step-Down Unit cares for patients with conditions including:\n \n Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)\n Status post heart catheterization\n Status post vascular procedures\n Respiratory failure requiring BiPAP, CPAP, or Vapotherm\n Cardiac dysrhythmias\n Unit Procedures & Clinical Expectations\n \n Post-heart catheterization care\n TR band management\n Post-vascular procedure monitoring\n Frequent vital-sign monitoring\n Neurovascular assessments and checks\n Required Certifications\n \n BLS\n ACLS\n NIHSS\n Required Clinical Skills\n Cardiac / Emergency\n \n Cardiac monitoring\n Dysrhythmia interpretation\n Dysrhythmia management\n 12-lead EKG/ECG\n \n IV / Vascular\n \n IV initiation and maintenance\n PICC line management\n Blood product administration\n \n Medication Management\n \n Emergency medication administration\n Procedural sedation administration and monitoring\n Cardiac drip titration\n \n Neurological\n \n CVA / acute stroke management\n \n Respiratory / Thoracic\n \n BiPAP / CPAP management\n Assist with chest tube insertion and removal\n Professional Skills\n \n Infection prevention practices\n Isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use\n Phlebotomy\n Ideal Candidate\n The ideal candidate is an experienced Step-Down RN with strong cardiac monitoring and acute-care skills.
