Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a telemetry unit serving an adult to geriatric population with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Perform vital sign checks and blood glucose checks independently as part of routine patient assessment
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4–5 within a 36-room unit with an average daily census of 35
• Document accurately using Epic (required) , Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Float within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
• Adhere to holiday coverage expectations: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work them; if three fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers are accepted
• Proficiency with Epic is required
• All requested time off (maximum 7 days per contract) must be finalized at time of submission; no RTO or schedule requests can be made post-offer or onsite, and no RTO is permitted during orientation week
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification preferred
• Prior experience in a cardiac stepdown or telemetry setting
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
