Position Overview The Sales Engineer at TECfusions plays a crucial role in translating customer requirements into practical, buildable technical solutions for data center and mission‑critical environments. This role is focused on the engineering side of the sales cycle, including developing preliminary test layouts, reviewing designs for compliance with customer requirements, supporting power and cooling solution development, and coordinating closely with internal teams to help deliver projects on schedule. This individual will work closely with customers, sales, engineering, construction, and product development teams to ensure TECfusions’ solutions are technically sound, clearly documented, and aligned with project timelines and performance expectations. Key Responsibilities Client Engagement Work directly with customers and the sales team to gather technical requirements, constraints, and performance expectations for proposed solutions. Serve as a technical point of contact during early project development, helping translate customer objectives into engineering inputs. Review customer‑provided information and design criteria to confirm scope, assumptions, and alignment with TECfusions’ capabilities. Solution Development Produce preliminary test fits, layouts, and technical solution concepts that support customer requirements and site constraints. Review conceptual and developing designs to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements for capacity, redundancy, constructability, and schedule. Propose power and cooling approaches that align with customer operational needs, infrastructure limitations, and project objectives. Develop technical recommendations that balance performance, scalability, sustainability, and delivery feasibility. Technical Presentations Lead customer‑facing technical reviews to explain layouts, design assumptions, solution options, and key engineering tradeoffs. Communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders, supporting informed decision‑making throughout project development. Proposal Development Assist in preparing technical proposals and scope documentation, ensuring solution descriptions and engineering assumptions are accurate and aligned with customer requirements. Support the development of basis of design documentation by organizing customer requirements, design criteria, and key technical decisions for the engineering team. Contribute to RFP/RFI responses with clear technical narratives, preliminary design concepts, and supporting engineering details. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and product teams to refine technical solutions and support project handoff from pursuit through execution. Monitor product and solution delivery milestones to help ensure construction activities remain aligned with customer timelines and project commitments. Provide field and customer feedback to internal teams to improve solution quality, constructability, and delivery readiness. Customer Support Support customers and internal teams during implementation by clarifying design intent, technical assumptions, and solution requirements. Assist in resolving technical questions and coordination issues that arise during project development, procurement, and construction. Project Execution Support Track technical deliverables, equipment coordination, and product delivery status to help maintain alignment with construction schedules and customer expectations. Identify potential design or delivery risks early and communicate them to the appropriate teams to support timely resolution. Design Documentation Assist in writing and organizing basis of design documents, technical scopes, and supporting engineering narratives for customer projects. Maintain accurate documentation of customer requirements, design assumptions, and solution decisions to support downstream engineering and construction teams. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered. Experience 3+ years of experience in sales engineering, application engineering, design support, or a similar technical role, preferably within data centers, mission‑critical infrastructure, MEP systems, or energy solutions. Experience reviewing technical designs, developing preliminary layouts, and supporting customer‑specific solution development. Familiarity with project coordination, equipment delivery tracking, and cross‑functional collaboration across engineering and construction teams is strongly preferred. Skills Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, power systems, cooling systems, and mission‑critical design principles. Ability to produce and review preliminary layouts, evaluate design compliance with customer requirements, and support solution development. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to basis of design documents, technical proposals, and customer‑facing engineering discussions. Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across technical and project coordination activities. Experience working across multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Personal Attributes Passionate about environmental protection and community support.
