Key Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, focusing on addressing specific musculoskeletal conditions through various therapeutic approaches.
• Assist patients with a variety of therapeutic exercises, focusing on functional activities that promote independence and mobility.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat or cold therapy to enhance healing.
• Monitor and document patient progress using electronic health records, effectively communicating any notable changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients about home exercise programs and effective injury prevention techniques to foster ongoing independence in their daily activities.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records that comply with HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient privacy and data security are upheld.
• Work collaboratively with the entire healthcare team to ensure that patients receive coordinated and effective care tailored to their recovery journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our services are primarily focused on outpatient orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from surgery, sports injuries, accidents, and chronic pain conditions. You will engage with diverse patient demographics, ensuring you adapt your approach to meet varying needs and facilitate holistic recovery plans that help them attain their rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California.
• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in outpatient orthopedic settings; however, new graduates eager to apply their clinical knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong understanding of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and various physical modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to foster a patient-centered, empathetic interaction approach.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.
