School Based Behavioral Tech | Oregon

Behavioral Technician – School-Based Location: Oregon Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available Setting: School-Based Position Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Technicians to support students with behavioral, developmental, and social-emotional needs in school settings throughout Oregon. Behavioral Technicians work closely with teachers, special education staff, behavior specialists, and other school personnel to implement individualized behavior support plans and help students achieve success in academic and classroom environments. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and adolescents. Key Responsibilities Provide direct behavioral support to students in classroom and school settings. Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized support strategies as directed by supervisors. Assist students in developing social, communication, self-regulation, and life skills. Collect and document behavioral data accurately and consistently. Support students during academic instruction, transitions, and school activities. Utilize positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors. Collaborate with teachers, behavioral specialists, therapists, and school staff to support student goals. Assist in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district, state, and federal regulations. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field preferred. Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with developmental or behavioral challenges preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow behavior support plans and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Basic computer and documentation skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. Preferred Qualifications Experience in special education, behavioral health, mental health, or school-based settings. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred but not required. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles preferred. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist students throughout the school day. Ability to respond quickly in crisis situations. May be required to lift, transfer, or assist students in accordance with district guidelines. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required. Required Clearances Candidates must meet all state, district, and federal employment requirements, which may include: Criminal background check Fingerprinting TB screening or testing, if required Proof of education and certifications Compliance with district onboarding requirements Desired Skills Patience and empathy Strong problem-solving abilities Reliability and professionalism Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment Why Join Us?
