Commercial Lender

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Banking Lender with a strong focus on Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending . This role is responsible for developing new business relationships, managing an existing loan portfolio, and analyzing commercial loan requests of varying complexity and size. The ideal candidate brings strong credit expertise, relationship management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting and credit teams. Key Responsibilities Develop and cultivate new commercial banking relationships to grow the loan portfolio Interview loan applicants and analyze financial statements, collateral, and credit data Structure loan terms and recommend approvals within lending guidelines Coordinate underwriting, including risk ratings, covenant compliance, and financial analysis Manage renewals, modifications, and servicing of commercial loans Maintain and expand an assigned portfolio of commercial clients Monitor delinquencies and evaluate problem loans; recommend restructuring strategies when needed Conduct annual reviews and ensure timely documentation and compliance Cross-sell banking products and services to strengthen client relationships Stay informed on economic, financial, and legislative trends impacting commercial lending Assist with reporting, forecasting, and portfolio management Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite at NJ locations) Supportive, collaborative, team-oriented culture Relationship-driven internal and external environment Community-focused organization with volunteer initiatives Qualifications 5+ years of commercial lending experience, with strong C&I emphasis Completion of formal credit training or bank-sponsored credit program Strong financial analysis skills (financial analysis software experience preferred) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong relationship management and customer service abilities High attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with banking technologies and systems Ability to handle confidential information with discretion We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including: Performance-based bonus programs Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) Life Insurance, LTD, and AD&D coverage Paid Time Off (PTO), including personal and vacation time Paid Sick Time Paid Bank Holidays 401(k) retirement plan participation What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a results-driven commercial lender who can independently manage a portfolio while collaborating effectively with credit and lending teams.
