Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding opportunity guiding young learners in a supportive elementary school environment! A Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time contract role serving students in kindergarten through second grade (with the possibility of supporting upper elementary grades for one instructional segment as needed). This position is based near La Fayette, Georgia, and runs from July 29th, 2026 through May 21st, 2027, including pre-planning days.

Enjoy a manageable caseload of no more than ten students, all of whom are currently anticipated to present without significant behavioral or toileting concerns. You’ll focus on fostering growth, engagement, and confidence, helping each child reach individual learning milestones in a nurturing setting.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Hold an active GaPSC Teaching Credential
  • Possess at least a P-12 Special Education General Curriculum Endorsement
  • Previous experience supporting elementary-aged students preferred
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and a commitment to inclusive education
  • Ability to collaborate positively with fellow educators, support staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction tailored to student IEPs and unique learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and assess lesson plans for academic and social development
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Communicate effectively with parents and multidisciplinary teams
  • Engage in pre-planning and professional development sessions as part of the academic calendar
