Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic educational environment dedicated to supporting students’ diverse needs in a self-contained, functional curriculum classroom. This full-time contract opportunity spans from August 4th, 2026, to May 26th, 2027, with the potential for a seamless transition into the following academic year for those who excel in the role.

You will work alongside a collaborative team, including two paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, empowering students to achieve their individualized goals and thrive academically and socially.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active GaPSC Special Education Certification with content coverage through 8th grade
  • Adapted Curriculum Endorsement or eligibility (candidates with pending credentials may also be considered)
  • Experience or strong interest in working within a lower-functioning, self-contained classroom setting
  • Familiarity with functional curriculum instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt lesson plans aligned with each student’s IEP and learning objectives
  • Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment that promotes inclusion and growth
  • Collaborate actively with paraprofessionals, Registered Behavior Technician, families, and school staff
  • Implement positive behavior supports and data-driven interventions
  • Participate in IEP meetings, ongoing training, and interdisciplinary teamwork
