Primary Responsibilities

• Monitoring accounts to identify overdue payments
• Finding and contacting customers to arrange debt payoffs
• Keeping accurate records and reporting on collection activity
• Take actions to encourage timely debt payments, including sending proper notices and placing liens if necessary
• Resolve billing and customer credit issues
• Maintain internal and external communications
• Prepare open invoice reports
• Perform job close-out
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues and maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with customers
• Handle general phone calls and greet visitors to the office, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience

Position Requirements

• 2+ year(s) of collections or collections-related experience
• Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques
• Familiarity with laws related to debt collection
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including proper pronunciation and grammar, and a consistently courteous and professional tone of voice at all times
• Polite, confident, and excellent customer service skills, including listening and questioning skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional during tense or stressful situations
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Very self-motivated and goal-oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Capability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to learn new software, including Xactimate® and proprietary software
• Minimum of HSD/GED preferred
• Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law

Hours: 40 hours/week, flexible to work overtime when required. Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
