Commercial Lines Department Manager
Job Summary

Seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Lines Department Manager to lead and oversee a Commercial Lines team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in commercial insurance, a strong leadership background, and a commitment to excellence. This position is based in Pittsburgh and requires on-site presence five days a week, with potential for a hybrid schedule after the initial six months.
Compensation Package

Base Salary : Competitive, starting at $115,000+ (commensurate with experience)
Competitive benefits package, 401(k), paid time off, professional development opportunities, etc.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of approximately 15 professionals across multiple office locations.
Oversee employee development, coaching, and performance management.
Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.
Maintain and strengthen carrier relationships, including interactions with carriers such as CHUBB, Cincinnati, Travelers, FCCI, Selective, and Philadelphia.
Coordinate continuing education (CE) initiatives and scheduling.
Provide high-level oversight on complex or cumbersome renewals.
Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Travel twice annually to other office locations to foster team cohesion and alignment.

Qualifications/Requirements

Licenses/Designations : Property & Casualty (P&C) license required; CPCU or higher designation preferred but not mandatory.
Experience :
- Ideal: 15+ years in commercial insurance.
- Minimum: 10 years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in Epic software.
Soft Skills : Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of fostering a collaborative team environment.
Education : Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required.
